Organic matcha from the volcanic soil of Kagoshima, Japan, where our tea plants grow two years longer for a deeper flavour.
Clearly Matcha is 100% organic ceremonial-grade matcha from Kagoshima, Japan, in single-serve sticks of 2 g. One ingredient, nothing added. 21 sticks per box.
2 g of stone-ground green tea leaf. Because you drink the whole leaf, you get what the leaf holds: about 104 mg of caffeine and 80 mg of L-theanine per stick, plus catechins such as EGCG. A stick makes one bowl or one latte.
Kagoshima lies in the south of Japan: volcanic soil, misty mountain air and a subtropical climate. Our plants grow two years longer than standard matcha plants and are shaded before the first harvest of spring. Only the youngest leaves of that first harvest are picked, steamed, dried and ground. Certified organic: no pesticides, herbicides or synthetic fertiliser, and the surrounding farms are organic too.
Matcha oxidises fast once it meets light, air and moisture, which flattens its colour and taste. A 2 g stick is opened the moment you use it, so the last stick is as fresh as the first.
Sift one stick into a bowl, add 60 ml of water at 80 to 90 °C (not boiling) and whisk until it foams. Or shake it in a shaker, and add milk for a latte.
One ingredient: 2 g organic ceremonial matcha per stick, from Kagoshima, Japan. Nothing else: no sugar, no fillers, no flavourings. Vegan. Lab-tested in Europe. Packed in the Netherlands.
Ceremonial: sift one stick (2 g) into a bowl, add 60 ml of water at 80 to 90 °C (never boiling) and whisk in an M or Z motion until a layer of foam forms. Quick: shake one stick with 60 ml of warm water in a shaker. Latte: top either up with hot or cold (plant-based) milk. One box holds 21 sticks.
No health claim about green tea is approved in Europe, and none that applies to it is awaiting approval, so this page makes none.
The claims on hold about green tea were submitted for combinations with other plants, not for green tea on its own.

Matcha is a traditional Japanese tea powder made from finely ground green tea leaves. Ours comes from Kagoshima, a region in southern Japan renowned for its volcanic soil and ideal climate for growing high-quality tea.
L-theanine is an amino acid that occurs almost only in the tea plant, and in higher amounts in shaded leaves such as matcha: about 80 mg per stick. It is part of what gives matcha its soft umami taste.
About 104 mg per stick, because you drink the whole leaf rather than an infusion. A cup of filter coffee has about 80 mg.
Catechins are the polyphenols of green tea; EGCG is the best known. Because you drink the whole leaf, matcha holds more of them than steeped tea.
Per stick (2 g), as on the label: 100% organic ceremonial matcha, nothing added. L-theanine, caffeine and catechins are what the leaf naturally holds.

Matcha is often described as having a grassy flavor, but the taste varies greatly depending on its quality. Lower-quality matcha can taste bitter and sharp, while ceremonial-grade matcha, like Clearly Matcha, has a smooth, creamy texture with rich umami and a subtle sweetness. Factors such as growing conditions and processing determine the balance and complexity of the flavor.
Matcha is highly sensitive to light, air, and moisture, which can cause it to oxidize quickly. This affects its flavor, nutrients, and color. The longer matcha is exposed, the faster its quality deteriorates. In Japan, matcha is often packaged in small tins to be used within 2-4 weeks. After that, its quality noticeably declines, even in sealed containers.
Our 2 g sticks provide the perfect protection against light, air, and moisture. This keeps the matcha fresh and preserves its color, nutrients, and rich flavor. The sticks are also convenient for on-the-go use and ensure a perfect portion every time.
Because you drink the whole leaf, you get what it holds: about 104 mg of caffeine, 80 mg of L-theanine and the catechins of green tea, such as EGCG, per stick. No health claim for green tea or L-theanine is authorised in Europe, so we tell you what is in it and leave it there.
Our matcha is 100% organic certified, meaning it is grown without pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers. Additionally, all surrounding farms where our matcha is sourced are also organic. This prevents chemicals from contaminating the plants through the soil or air.
Ceremonial grade is the highest standard for matcha. It means the tea is made from the youngest leaves of the first harvest, which have the most nutrients and the softest flavor. These leaves are hand-selected and ground into a powder with a vibrant green color, rich umami flavor, and minimal bitterness. Ceremonial matcha is specifically designed to be enjoyed pure, without any additions, and is traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies.
Clearly Matcha comes from Kagoshima, a region in southern Japan renowned for its volcanic soil and ideal climate for growing high-quality tea. Kagoshima offers perfect conditions with its mineral-rich soil, misty mountain air, and subtropical climate.
L-theanine is an amino acid that occurs almost only in the tea plant; shaded leaves such as matcha hold more of it, about 80 mg per stick. It is part of what gives matcha its umami. Claims about what it does are not authorised in Europe, so we leave them out.
Our tea plants are allowed to grow for two years longer than standard matcha plants. The extra time in the volcanic soil shows in the leaf: a deeper colour and a richer, rounder flavour.
Final production always takes place in the Netherlands, so we stay in full control of quality and safety. We source our ingredients directly from the origin, always from specialists who are best at what they do.
For every ingredient, there’s someone in the world who does it better than anyone else, and that’s who we work with. No middlemen. Only trusted suppliers who meet the strictest European standards.
At Clearly, our mission is simple: to keep searching for the #1, and make it available to you.
Because it’s clearly the inside that counts.
No flashy design or misleading labels, just a transparent pouch, so you can see exactly what’s inside. Too often, we buy things because they look or sound good… but inside? Sugar, fillers, or low-quality ingredients.
At Clearly, we do it Clearly: only #1 ingredients you can trust, and a fully transparent formula.
We use mono-material, one single type of plastic, which makes the pouch 100% recyclable. Unlike most packaging that mixes paper and plastic and can’t be properly recycled.
When it comes to health, the inside matters most. That’s Clearly.
Yes. Every ingredient is lab-tested for heavy metals, microbiology, and other potential contaminants.
We only use clean, traceable raw materials from trusted suppliers who meet the highest European safety standards.
If it’s not safe, tested, and the best, it’s not Clearly. We don’t go for "good enough", we go for #1 quality.
We use our own products daily. And just like you, we only want the best. Because if your health is #1, what you take should be too.
If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend checking with your doctor before taking any supplement. During this time, both your health and your baby’s health are clearly #1.

Amazing green vibrant color, wonderful taste and easily soluble. Loved it! You can definitely see the difference of quality and the ceremonial grade. I will be ordering it again!

The only problem with Clearly Matcha is- once you tried, there is no way back to other Matcha products. (Clearly Matcha is on the right.) I absolutely love it!😍

Daarom is het pakje altijd binnen no time leeg 😉

Love my matcha. Best quality always with you in these perfect sticks
